UK QUAY RENT

FREE TIME AND QUAY RENT AT DESTINATION PORTS AFTER DISCHARGE(RULE 128)

Unless otherwise stated elsewhere in this tariff or in Confidential Service Contracts, Liverpool Quay rent (terminal storage), will be assessed on all  Containers discharged in Liverpool, London Gateway Port & Southampton that remain on the terminal beyond the free time as stated below:

FREE TIME AND QUAY RENT AT DESTINATION PORTS AFTER DISCHARGE

A. When shipments are held at Carrier’s interchange port or bill of lading discharge port pursuant to instructions from merchant, or his agent; or shipment is not interchanged to inland carrier by reason of, but not limited to, delays in processing documentation requirements of governmental agencies beyond the control of the Carrier for period in excess of the free time, all quay rent charges which may have accrued prior to the removal of the shipment from Carrier’s Terminal shall be assessed and collected from the Merchant or his agent.

B. Shipments not removed from Carrier’s terminal within the free time period may, at any time thereafter at the option of the Carrier or governmental agency, be placed in public storage at the full risk and expense of the Merchant or his agent.  All quay rent charges which may have accrued prior to removal from Carrier’s terminal shall be assessed and collected from the Merchant or its agent.

C. In the event Merchant instructs Carrier to divert and re-consign the shipment to a port, or a point and/or Consignee other than the port or point and/or Consignee shown on original bill of lading, diversion rules and charges in Rule 2 S shall apply, in addition to all other applicable charges.  All quay rent charges, which may have accrued prior to such instructions, shall be assessed and collected from the party who instructs the Carrier.

D. All containers remaining at Carrier’s terminal at interchange or bill of lading port undelivered after the expiration of free time as shown in E. below, will be subject to quay rent charges as shown below, until removed from Carrier’s terminal.

Quay rent will commence on the next business day after expiration of free time.

E. FREE TIME

Free Time will begin at 0001 Hours on the first Business/Calendar day following complete discharge of the Vessel.
